Joseph O’Donoghue
George W. Gould Construction Institute

After gaining experience in several trades, Joseph O’Donoghue is graduating from the four year Electrical Apprenticeship Program at the George W. Gould Construction Institute. Residing in Dorchester, he originally attended Boston Trade High School where he majored in the Plumbing trade. After graduating, Joe completed his apprenticeship and obtained his plumbing license. Recognizing the need to enhance his skills, Joe enrolled at the New England Fuel Institute and added oil burner technician to his resume. He then enrolled at the New England Tractor Trailer School and again added credentials to his resume. While furthering his education, Joe worked testing cables and installing telephones. He has always been interested in the electrical field and his employer, Interstate Electrical Services, looked at his resume and offered him the opportunity to pursue the electrical trade. Joe enrolled in the Electrical Apprenticeship program in 1997 with a goal of finishing in 2001 and completed the program with perfect attendance. He performs on the job in the same steadfast way that he approaches his education goals. His commitment to family, work and education is impressive. We look forward to hearing about the next step on Joe’s career ladder.
