Paul Medolo
New England Hair Academy

When Paul Medolo from North Andover worked for Fed Ex he was a model employee who never missed a day of work. Unfortunately, a job-related back injury was so severe he was forced to leave his position at Fed Ex. He was devastated, because he was in his 40's and the sole support of his family. With three young sons in school, he would really have a difficult time financially. While getting his haircut one day, he confided his predicament to his friend, the barber. The barber suggested he try changing careers and give barbering a try. He told Paul that he would give him a job when he completed his training and said, "Eventually you may even own my salon." Paul enrolled in New England Hair Academy and was not only the oldest student but he knew absolutely nothing about cutting hair. Every day he worked very hard to master the techniques of shaving and haircutting. Some days his back would bother him, but he persevered and is close to perfecting his craft. While a student at New England Hair Academy, Paul has received awards such as Most Improved Freshman, Perfect Attendance and Student of the Month. It looks like he is on his way to someday owning that Barber Shop after all.
