Corinne DeSimone
Medical Professional Institute

After CORINNE DESIMONE'S seven-year-old son developed a tumor on his liver caused by Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, she realized her interest in the medical field. But not until she became unemployed from her long-term cable company position did she finally decide to attend the Medical Assistant program at MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTE (MPI) to get the training she needed to start her new career in the health care field. Corinne started the program in July of 2004 and quickly excelled in all of her classes though she struggled with the intense coursework, while also juggling her son's doctor appointments and working as a pizza delivery person to make ends meet. After all her hard work, she graduated with an impressive grade point average of 3.96 out of 4.0 and quickly found several employment opportunities. Corinne currently works at both Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge as a Billing Specialist and at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Somerville as a Head Medical Assistant. Corinne's desire and perseverance has been an inspiration to everyone and the MPI staff knows she will continue to achieve great success in her future endeavors.
