Matt Gaide
Cambridge School of Culinary Arts

MATT GAIDE, of South Boston, was raised by a single mother never knowing his father. His mother had problems early in Matt's life leaving him to be raised mostly by his grandmother and uncle. At the age of 5, he was diagnosed as a diabetic. His early school years were troubled but he applied and was accepted to the Boston Arts Academy for 9th grade. He excelled and became a high honors student. However, this was short lived when his mother moved several times and he ended up at Dorchester High. Soon after, Matt dropped out of high school but pursued and received his GED at the age of 16. During this time he began working at CompUSA where he is still employed and was recently promoted to a full time position. He then began looking for what truly interested him, which through the encouragement of his uncle brought him to the CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL OF CULINARY ARTS. In March of 2005, Matt successfully completed the Professional Chef's program, making him the youngest graduate in the school's 30-year history! He is currently considering his options for his future in the culinary field. The staff at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts wishes Matt continued success in all his future plans.
