Clarence R. Lyons III
FINE Mortuary College

CLARENCE R. LYONS III first entered FINE MORTUARY COLLEGE in November of 2003. Previous to attending FINE, CR, as his classmates referred to him, achieved a B.A. in English Literature from Saint Michael's College in Vermont. After earning his Bachelor's degree, CR, who lives in Danvers, decided to enroll in the Mortuary Science program at FINE. CR had a funeral service background and he had decided to join the family firm, CR Lyons and Sons Funeral Home, also in Danvers. From the beginning, CR took on a full time course load despite also working in the family business. This heavy business and course work load is an outstanding achievement at FINE, where most students keep their course loads at a reduced level that allows them to both work and attend school. For his last two terms, CR took additional classes, over and above his full time status. He consistently received high grades in all his courses and achieved Dean's List status every term. CR is a gifted and motivated student who was also very generous with his talents. CR offered his time to his classmates by becoming a peer tutor. He also sought and was voted into the office of Secretary in FINE's Student Government Association. While a student, CR was a friend to all at FINE and everyone quickly acknowledged his sense of humor and caring attitude. He was a joy to have at FINE and we miss him! We are sure CR will continue on his path of success in the future.
