Melissa Batty
Blaine! The Beauty Career Schools

Blaine! The Beauty Career Schools (Hyannis) is proud to nominate Melissa Batty for the 2003 Outstanding Student Achievement Award. Melissa had been enrolled in the Esthetics program for September 2001, but soon after starting she had to leave due to a large tumor on her thyroid gland which had to be removed immediately, so she had an emergency surgery. After making a good recovery, Melissa decided to come back to pursue her dream. When she returned to school in January 2002, Melissa was more determined to complete the program than ever. Despite a one hour commute each way, four evenings a week, and though she was still physically drained, she maintained a 93.78% GPA. Not only did she excel at her own assignments and exams, she also proved to be a great motivator to her fellow classmates. Melissa graduated from the Esthetics program in October 2002 and is now a licensed Esthetician. After pondering several job opportunities, she decided to make herself even more marketable by becoming a licensed Nail Technician. To that end, Melissa is currently excelling in our Nail Art program, and has just passed her final exam with a 100% score! Melissa has been an inspiration to us all and we are certain that she will continue to inspire others wherever her career path takes her!
