Anthony Stephens
Barbizon School of Modeling
When 16 year-old Anthony
Stephens, of Mattapan, enrolled at the Barbizon School of
Modeling, he was in need of directing his energy. Having been
an "A" student all through middle school, Anthony's
transition to high school seemed to be going well until his
sophomore year. Then, he seemed to be young man working hard
at being on the other side of class. Anthony's grades were
declining fast and after much discussion with School Administrators,
the Metco Director and personal insights, it was suggested
that Anthony get himself involved in some personal goal. Anthony
asked if he could check out the Barbizon School of Modeling
and decided to enroll in the Personal Development program.
Anthony was so excited about starting a new endeavor. To get
from Lexington, where he attends high school, to Copley Square
every Thursday by 6 p.m. on the Mass Pike was quite a challenge.
Anthony would change from football gear to a pair of slacks,
shirt and shoes in the car, since Barbizon's dress code does
not permit jeans or sneakers when attending class. He really
blossomed in the 20 weeks he was at Barbizon graduating with
honors and personal confidence in himself in reaching his
goals. Anthony has improved ALL his grades and is currently
enrolled in an SAT prep class to prepare for college exams.
Anthony plans to pursue his modeling career over the next
year while planning for college.
